Hey guys (and gurls)

im ditching my bike trailer as it gets on my pips have to lug it in and out of the garden, and going back to a dave cooper esque carry rack thing on the back. However as the back is so flat and high, the bike rubs like buggery on the back.

Im thinking some sort of heavy duty spacer or something to space out the mounting bar. Anyone else carry crossers on the back?

Some of my race bikes weigh up to 220 kg so whatever is done, needs to be heavy duty.

I looked into this myself as I've got a scooter for when we go on holiday and I've got a track bike as well but don't want a trailer taking up garden space
And it came out with two options " for me"
1 was to buy a motolug trailer ( it folds down to all most nothing)
2 get a receiver hitch tow bar bracket ( the Americans use them ) that way you can have a removable ball hitch and slot in a home made bracket that suits your needs

yeah had a motolug and it was brilliant, but i sold it. Wish i hadnt!!!

I will look into this reciever hitch cheers mate.

Dont like bodges... And my race bike cost 6 grand to build. Id cry if i damaged it because of being cheap lol

Race bike is a cr500 hybrid, then my rallye bike is an old school dr750 dr big with my home built suspension (machining up a shock was fun!) full every part of them is modified in some way. Both machines are innapropriate but huge fun. Latest stuff still cant touch a cr500. And when that bike is mate to top quality modern suspension and kit... Its awesome ;)

dr is great when someone sees it coming up behind them they move, 220 kilos in races where most bikes are sub 120, and its taller than a ktm adventure, and longer!!

Road track bike is a zx9r c1 with 11 plate busa radial front end, zx10r swingarm, wp suspension, lightened flywheel, full titanium akrapovich, it was my first big bike 10 years ago!

Kxf450 hybrid, just sold my ktm 380 and rs250 the other day, then i have a klv1000 that im turning into an expedition bike in thecsame vein that i want my new 110 to be in.

Phew!!!

the crm is grat fun my little enduro hack! i bet the cr 500 is an absolute beast!!!!!! always wanted ago off one they look like they would tear ur face off.
i love my hondas
my dad had a klx 300r which was a beast for olden use to show up some modern stuff. not a huge fan off road or mx bikes really like my mid 90s early 2000s enduro bikes anythink u can do a hare and hound on then drive home :)

Crs actually a pussy cat. I spent a fair bit of time on the dyno though getting things right.

Bit concerned on how the 110 will handle the dr shoved on its arse. Whats the noseweight on one, about 75kg? I think i read that ages ago

Want to entervthe big bike challenge but needs more cc to qualify. Reckon ill be the only 2 stroke in it. But ill need to carry plenty of fuel. Averages 15 mpg at the min :)

Not sure about a 110 but my discovery2 has a nose weight of 250kg it may be because of the rear air suspension
I've had lots of bikes over the years but the cr500 is still one I'd like to get hold of as a keeper
Zx9c1 had one of them when they came out in 98 good bike I bought the c2 the following year but it was not as good as the c1 crashed it a donington I've still got the zx9e1 that was to be my track bike but I done such a good job on my bandit 12 hybrid that I now use that

This thread is turning into a bike thread now

well im trying to keep it about the bike rack honest!
I was thinking of maybe modifying a dave cooper one and having it extended out a bit more. I had it fitted on my l220 (similar high and flat back) and it scuffed the hell out of the rear door. Dont want to do that on the 110 once its been painted.

Could anyone actually confirm the noseweight on a 110? Ill be fitting heavy duty springs and maybe some air bag helper things on the back for those situations when its carrying.

regarding the cr... its not the power thats awesome, but the torque. Instant power available at any time. 5th gear wheelies off the throttle just happen and theres not alot you can do about it. Its actually pretty rubbish for racing as there too much power to be able to put down and it just rips up the ground rather than properlling you forward. Funny as hell in the right situation though. The new KTM boys dont like having there 2012 bikes battered by a 1989 road legal machine hahahahahhaha . I even ride it to the race and back again sometimes :)

yeah i have seen a few like that, ive also seen other sites that are saying the nose weight is only 75 kilos.

Just wondering what is correct really.
