embarrasing question

A lot of them are plastic wood. If you have veneer (burr walnut etc) it will be thin veneer on lazer cut fibre board, not ply or box wood (unless custom made by hand afterwards) as this would warp because of the thinness.

no its not, gear /shift selector on low to mid end models is plastic,hi end some hse & vogue up etc its veneer, also on all models the dash strip is veneer.best wood is vogue 50,holland & Holland,30th ann, autobiography etc etc

I can only speak for my car, it is trimmed in wood and when i say wood i mean wood NOT plastic. I have had them all off to remove the dash for blend motors and refurb of heater box. They are veneer on a wood base i can assure you.

Same on mine. The only thing i've not checked are the door inserts but pretty sure these are the same.

So let´s decide that most of us have wood with a thick layer of laquer , how do we get it shiny again ??
some spörchel polish suitable ? very fine sanding and then clear laquer ?, anyone ??

I love the wood finish in mine. I've been used to having new cars plastered with silver painted 'aluminium look' plastic so it makes a welcome change to have something natural with a quality feel.

Its not a moden car so why would your want a modern interior?
The wood is typical of what was classed as high quality of the time

Whats worse is when you see someone has covered the wood in some dodgy 'fablon' or even worse, spray painted it.

I guess you're right, I've had it in cars in the past and never been that keen. Some of the wood looks good in the L322 though, reminds me of a Riva boat :)

Some of the orange wood in L322's reminds me of the dodgy 'Veneers' i keep seeing in Chinese factories when i'm on visits to FE.
