as there so cheap , just bought one of these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121660462838

as i can't leave the iid plugged in for a long period of time , thought this would be ideal for live data readings

posted it here in case anyone else may be interested ,

Some screen shots of its capabilities (when you get it) would be good

that's what i thought ,putting up some screenshots

will also be interesting to get the turbo boost readings before and after i free up the actuator arm

it does mpg live data as well, so can compare it to the onboard mpg display

then with the iid can offset it plus or minus to give a more accurate mpg readout on the instrument panel

also does the maf, map sensors

think the torque software is only a fiver

this is one of the software programs that works with the elm

using it via an ipad or phone

I take it, it only does live and you can't log it?

can easily do a screenshot on the ipad

caption from the website

* Send logging information to web or email CSV/KML for analysis via excel / openoffice reade

For the money sounds good

that's what i thought

if it doesn't do everything i want it to, then it's no great loss £7 quid

can get all different software to use, normally just a few quid

will test it out, then put the screenshots up and what it will and won't do , so it may help ur goodself and others with the canbus system

see it does iso as well, but the d3 has the med and high canbus i believe

is good having the iid , as i said can then offset the instrument mpg display plus or minus to get a more accurate readout

Don't forget Gary, poking and prodding at your mobile phone is still using a mobile phone whilst driving, even though you're examining live data from the OBDII port and not texting on farcebook.
Let's be careful out there.
@gstuart

oh don't worry i don't go anywhere near a mobile phone when i'm driving

will use an ipad with a holder and put it in the centre console so i can see it clearly

that way i can glance at it, as in the same way u would look at a sat nav

years ago there was an old disused runway at biggin hill which would have been perfect , but it's all been fenced off

the guy there use to be a land rover owner and was good in testing brakes etc without the distraction of other cars around
