yes or test light power comes from brown wires to that box then to ignition switch

The fuses under the bonnet are 4 Maxi Fuses, one is aircon (on mine fuse is still there, even tho its not got AC) one for main everything, if this goes, its completely dead, one is the glow plugs, and the last not yet identified...
earth for instrument binnacle on the 300 is under the bonnet, just to the right of the servo, its a bolt on a captive stud on the bulkhead.
Main earth from chassis to battery on passenger side, and one from about the same point on the G/box to the battery (on mine anyway) I beleive it may be possibly to have a chassis to G/Box strap, then just one from here back to the battery.

Have you looked at the wires behind the fuse box, i know my electrical problems where becuse this wire behind teh fuse box had melted,

James - the fuses appear intact. And there is power to the brown wire wires as you described - I'm nots sure if I'm pleased or disappointed!!
Wez - I've checked these wires and they present immaculate with strong connections.
Tim - the earth on the bulkhead seams quite clean. I've now attached the main earth from the battery to the chassis on the T/Box. There was no earth from the engine to the chassis, nor was there from the gearbox to the battery or chassis, therefore Ive made temporary ones to test with little success.
Is this the earth on the bulkhead ?

If its not an issue with an earth what else would cause the (Indicators, warning lights, fuel gauge and temperature gauge) to stop working.?! Both the Lights and wipers are working as they should as is the illumination panel on the dash.
On the opposite side of the transfer box towards the drivers side there are a further two smaller earth wires, what are these for.?

yup, thats the bulkhead earth, even though they look good, they may not be (speaking from experience.
also, I believe it isn't unknown for the bulkhead to loose ITS earth.
All those items also run off the same fuse/circuit IIRC, if the fuse looks ok, try twisting the pins slightly, I had a couple that didnt quite connect properly, so everything looked ok, but the fuse wasnt connecting, so no power.
Then check to see if you have power at the fusebox for that circuit, and work from there.
