Hi all,
Working my way through my list of issues slowly! I’ve spent some time searching and Rave-ing for info so apologies if I’ve missed something obvious.

I have two electrical issues that I am looking into at the minute and I would appreciate any knowledge or advice that can be shared about them.

First being no cluster, dash button or heater control lights etc. It seems like I’ve got no power coming from the BECM (read haven’t had chance to remove seat and check at connection yet.) Are there any common causes for this?
Put power to pin two on light switch (easiest access point for me quickly earlier) and all lights come on as they should.

Second being no courtesy lights when opening doors. They ARE turned on according to centre button/dash. Front and rear door puddle lights come on but none of the courtesy lights do.
All map lights work as I am getting power and earth to them.
I don’t seem to be getting a switched earth at lights.
Again if I supply an earth to pin 2 at front interior light they all come on as they should.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Don’t know if it makes any difference but she appears to have had immobiliser removed as I have a key with no PCB in the fob. Also I haven’t been able to lock/unlock manually whilst in my possession due to what I presume is faulty switch in door.

This is a p38? Rare but could be the BECM itself.
Apologies yes. 1995 P38 DSE.
So many things have been bodged or left broken on this thing it’s quite interesting to work on at the minute.
Thought the cluster backlights worked fine but turns out the bulb holders have been butchered and wired into the sidelights!
Don’t know if a failed dimmer switch could cause the whole circuit to go down and can’t pinpoint the feed into the BECM to tell it to turn lights on.
More than happy to power it from another cable coming out of the BECM if there is one suitable to do so.

Check for wet carpet and under felt in the drivers footwell, the cause of many problems.
Thanks will have a double check later. Think it’s just passenger side that gets wet.
I cleaned the white connectors at bottom of pillar as they were slightly corroded.

I was hoping you might comment Datatek as I couldn’t figure out how to message you directly regarding the electric fan mod I’ve seen you mention. I would appreciate if you could impart your wisdom on this as well.
I presume it would be a thermostatic switch to trigger AC fans?
