Right here we go again !!!
had new battery fitted but it kept dying turns out alternator was knackered so i bought brand new alt and fitted it. Now im getting showing on display that my bonnet is open but actually its closed and also showing traction failure since putting new alt on.Also the button you push to release fuel flap on the dashboard is not springing back up are all these edproblems connected ? was hoping to have this back on the road soon but at this rate her indoors will put her foot down and it will have to go. I have also recently had to new door actuators fitted as well so all central locking / alarm working . HELP PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!! (4.6 V8 ):mad:

Bonnet switch is on L/H catch as you look from front of car. Bit of a bugger to get at. Either catch is not adjusted properly of switch is duff. Fuel switch has possibly just come apart by over zealous finger use. Take it out and push it back together. Bit of super glue might be handy. TC usually comes up with low battery volts get that shunt tested just because it's new does not mean it is good. Other than that diagnostics to see if you have any stored faults.

Don't forget you got an Emergency cord in the back driver side for fuel flap if that's missing they do open by hand if needed ;)

is the cord in the same place as the rf receiver ? also to take out the fuel cap release button do i have to remove the casing around dash panel ?

Instrument binnacle. You will have to drop the panel in the foot well under the steering wheel, four screws under plastic covers. Then there are two screws in upper part of binnacle an two that were covered by the panel you just took off.

right got to bonnet switch and had good clean up of switch popped battery on and no more bonnet open message going to pop battery on charge cause still getting traction failure message coming up as well as airbag fault. right now for the fuel button. fingers crossed.

Airbag *may* not reset itself and could need a diagnostic comp to reset....

Some SRS faults do reset and others need to be plugged in....

If yours is a MY with Seat Belt tensioners and/or seat mount side impact bags, the most usual culprit is the wiring connection under the seat!....

Also when you take the binnacle out to do the switch, did you disconnect the SRS harness (Yellow) to the binnacle with the battery plugged in?? As this is a big No-No as it can cause a) the airbags to go off!! or b) a Fault Code to be logged which will need resetting!

Correct NO SRS plug should be disconnected whilst battery is connected. And you have waited 20 mins or so for system to discharge. A face full of air bag hurts.

That is correct, but the connectors to the side airbags in the seat constantly cause connection problems and the airbag does not go off.

had battery disconnected had to buy new fuel switch so get that friday whilst having a look around dash i took out the display and noticed i missing certain bulbs brk pad bulb missing / service bulb missing / beam bulb missing and srs1 bulb missing could this be causing some of headaches ?

The SRS system has two lampss...one for a fault and one to tell you the lamp has gone!!!

Maybe your SRS warning lamp is telling you one is missing...(But I could be waaayyyy off the mark)

Why would the fault lamps be removed.......???

Time to replace them, and see if they stay on....if they do, time for Diagnostics!

when it was in garage last time they couldn't get airbag fault message to clear ill buy some bulbs and go from there. but could be time to start admitting defeat . shame coz i love the car

also just noticed a small yellow wire with green strip and a black wire going into a white connector just dangling under base of steering whell any ideas where this goes ?

Been here before with this wire. Think from memory it's something fitted to NAS version don't go anywhere on yours.
