Electric windows not working

Hi so this is my first post on here other than my intro.

Both rear and drivers front windows are completely dead. Nothing at all happens when the buttons are pressed.

The passenger window made a bang the other day every time it came down but not on the way up and now although works without the bang is a little juddery... maybe it came out of a guide or something?

So I'm thinking I should check the fuzes, then the switches with a meter and then motors?

Advice please?

Depends on which disco it is 1 or 2 ... though to check fuses/switches wont hurt but everything else is different

It's a Disco 1, 1995 plate.

these used to have bad contacts at the window ecu

Where are you located? I have a spare window ECU you could try if your in Essex.

They are a common fault and if its the problem there is a guide you could search for to show you how to fix it with a simple soldering iron.
