Electric Window not working

Hi,

I have a 2005 defender 90 and my drivers side electric window has stopped working and I need some help tracing the fault. When I press the switch nothing happens and I can't hear the motor doing anything but I've checked the fuses and they were all fine. What else should I check before taking out the motor? Or how can I check that the motor isn't the problem?

I have used the search function but couldn't find anything similar.

have u tested the power at the switch to tell whether power is getting that far?

I found a broken wire in the rubber cover between door and pillar which I soldered and it works fine now.

For future reference how would I test the switch for power?

use a simple volt meter or similar from halfrauds

or a light bulb.
or a 12v tester (like the mains screw drivers, but 12v)

I have a discovery5 drivers electric window just clicks under passenger footwell is there a relay gone? all others work fine
