I have the opportunity to buy some leather seats complete with electric control. Can I fit these to my TD5 without huge mods being necessary? It appears that the wiring is already installed under the existing seats, however this may be for something other than electric seat motors, possibly heaters? Does anyone know whether this can be done? Cheers Jez

The wires that are there are for the seats so everything will fit together ok the only thing you will need to do is plug a computer in and tell the body computer the it has electirc seats in it and provide power to them.

Are u sure about that?.....mine has just the wiring for the heated seats, nothing else......and u need a switch pack too which on cars fitted with electric seats is on the centre console.
@jezkirsty > IMHO is not as simple as mr. minidod said ....and u need a seat power relay pack too which usually is not fitted on non-electric seat cars............but i might be wrong

To sustain what i said, u need these >>> if u dont have them fitted(which is quite obvious to me) then u'll need them to make the seats work...and some exta wiring fixing too

seems to me too.....all the bits within the relay pack are for the electric seats ..i.e. C475 is a pump ....and so on, i think this "package" is quite expensive too, besides just see how many wires u have to connect to the switch pack......if you're not a handy electician to DIY u'll reach the bottom of your pocket

I think the seat heaters are a good idea and they can be retro fitted to any car seat.
As for electric seats the do have a few extra adjustments, you can raise or lower the front or the rear of the seats but how often will u do that, I don't touch my switches from one year to the next.
