Hi peeps I've just bought a full black heated leather trim for my td5 which came from a 52 plate auto v8 how ever I pulled one of my none electric front cloth seats out today to see about the connections and the brown plug looked the same apart from it only having two wires which I traced as the heated side (no great heartship there) but the electric doesn't work. I've never tested for power just thought would be plug an play. Will I be better wiring it myself? Also see the heated seats could I not put a supply to one half the switches which will be in my new centre console and a feed from the switch to the seat cos surely it will earth through one of the bigger wires on the brown plug just there's 4 wires on each side switch or are two possibly for illumination wiring though. Thanks in advance.

I take it that you have connected the electric seat switch control, that sits on the centre console?

You will also need to tell the Body Control Unit (BCU) that the car now has electric seats.

Yeah it's all connected but the power down at the seat isn't there the wirings missing. I've ran a live feed down but had to piggyback another wire going into the seat wiring to get them to work. The heated seat wiring was there and working.
