Electric front windows

Hello I have just bought a 2000 landy disco TD5, it has front & rear electric windows, the owners manual says the front windows have one touch up & down, but these don't seem to work, I have to hold the switch to open or close the windows completly.

so my question is:-
is there a way or resetting the windows so the one touch works again ? on my old vectra i had to open each window in turn all the way down, then hold the switch for 3 seconds,
then close the window all the way up in one go & then hold the switch for 3 seconds again to reset the one touch,
but this doesn't seem to work on my disco,

any help or advice welcome

you will find to get the auto to work you just need to press and release the switch withing 2seconds

thanks for the reply steve I have tried that, but the window goes up/down about an inch then stops again.

I have got the window to go full open once but not since & still won't go full close, no matter what I try

begining to think i've bought a lemon here...
with lots & lots of small problems.
i.e:-
gearbox when warm is hard to get into 3rd up or down the gears,
gear stick sits between 1st & 2nd when in neutral not 3rd & 4th as it should
headlight wash squirts on the floor not the lights. (leaky pipe behind bumper I think)
nearside headlight works when it feels like it
the disco leans (low on drivers side)
front sunroof leaking,
diesal glow light takes ages to go out (cold or hot engine) :doh:

if window doesnt shut properly and motor works ,remove door card and check window regulator ,they are prone to come loose try changing oil and put in mt94 ,baulk ring is probably worn but oil change can help greatly sometimes,,remove consol and rubber gaiter in tunnel ,remove rubber gaiter off gear stick housing there should be a flat metal tab poking up at rear of gear stick between springs this is called bias plate ,gear box top can be removed if neede to help remove plate and fit new or weld old ,one up ,holes are slotted to align stick so it rests between 3rd and 4th, replace springs they have either sagged or a coil has broken,unless you have air suspensoin issue at rear

thanks everybody for your advive with my windows, I think I found the problem, I think the switches were dirty as I took them out & sprayed them with a solvent switch cleaner & now they work everytime. they don't go all the way up but looking in the book they aren't supposed to anyway.
