Hi all,
Removed my viscous fan as sick of having a cold drive, and so far gets warmish but still not boiling, but at least it's an improvement (only a short run to work). On a proper run gets around 1/3 to just under half way on the gauge and no more, cools down when you slow back down to urban speeds.
I know the tdi's run cool, but have bagged a nice 16" 120w electric fan that I am going to fit....just in case we get a hot summer
, to save messing on with the viscous fan. Will post up pics of my install when I get some steel to make a frame
Going to fit an 'on off on' switch in the cabin so it will be on with the thermostat, off for wading and override on to test, as guessing it won't be on much.
My question is which thermostat switch have people used? Any links/pics of installs as from my searching all I seem to find is keep away from the X - gauge ones. Also some fit in the top hose and some fit in the bottom hose
I think I need one that switches on at 90 degrees and off at 80 degrees, but again could be wrong.....
So come guys...point me in the right direction please, so I don't waste money on the wrong switch
cheers
