Hope someone can shed some light on the latest issue with my TD5.
I've just fixed the exhaust manifold issue, during which I had to remove the aircon pump to get access to the broken front bottom stud and I also lost some coolant. I topped up and bled the coolant, I haven't had the aircon recharged yet, anyway started the engine and the electric fan came on at the front of the radiator. I ran the engine up to normal temperature, checked the coolant and everything is fine, but the electric fan is now running all the time. Does anyone know whats causing this and how do I fix it? Cheers, bloody landrovers you gotta love em eh?:)

check out if u didnt disturb the engine coolant temp. sensor while u worked....the electric fan in front is double managed....by engine ECU with input from engine temp sensor and by A/C ECU..............or the simple way is to plug it in a scanner.

I had the same problem on mine and I fixed it by buying a HawkEye and with that I could turn off the engine request for the A/c condensor fan.

Thanks guy's, I'll visit the local garage to get the ECU diagnosed, hopefully its just a reset job for a dozen beers.

As i know the temp sensor is quite close to the exhaust manifold so if u just "disturbed"/accidently unplug it u dont need a tester, push it bach and the ECM will begin to read the inputs and stop the fan......without dozen of beers involved;):)

It didn't on mine Fery. I bought and installed a new temp sensor hoping it would work, but no !!!

Apparently it is a "latched" fault and needs releasing with an electronic tool.

Cheers
Dave
