EKA ......4 digit eka number

I've just had to use my EKA code for the first time recently, so I know it seems a little confusing. The EKA code (Emergency Key Access) relates to a sequence of locking and unlocking turns made with the car key in the driver's door lock. The unique code for your car will determine the exact number of turns to be made in each direction in sequence.

That sequence, and the simple steps before and after the code has been used is detailed in either the the Owner's manual, or is covered in Rave should you need it.

If you don't have either, search the forum and you will find plenty of links, some good and some problematical (so read the complete thread to see which is which). Rave wuill also guide you as to which problems/situations require the use of the EKA.

Hope that helps a little

its a kind of simple reset for when the battery's gone flat or disconeccted etc
say your code is 1,2,3,4 then you put the key in the drivers lock and turn clockwise fully once and then back to centre, then turn anticlockwise fully twice and return to centre thenclockwise 3 times & anticlockwise 4 times

i have the 4 digit eka number but what does it mean how do i use it

Now that you've got it keep it on you whenever you're out in your Rangie. You never know when you might need it again. I've even changed my main plastic cash card number to my EKA number so that I can remember it in an emergency.

:D

yeah yeah its been asked a million times before but its so simple why not just answer it rather than moan on like a load of old women!

almost, but without the next bit it won't work.

check the manual or rave but you need to turn the key anticlockwise 4 times before inputting the EKA from memory

correct. this is what tells the BECM to now expect the code.

I like helping people, which is why I answer questions on here, but it wears a bit thin when the same questions keep getting asked again and again. In the time it takes me to give a reasonably detailed answer to a question like this one you can read a few search answers with all the help you need - including responses from people who it worked for.Plus those that it didnt - and what they did to sort it.

And I've benefited from your help too Eight, its most appreciated. But it just that this thread seemed to go on for X number of posts without anyone giving an answer. Seemed like more effort than its worth! Never mind. Room for me on the miserable git bus? :D
