Looking for some help. My dad has just died and while I was going through his stuff I found a photo of him and me with the old series 2 we used to have. I would love to track this old landy down. I think he sold it or maybe swapped it for a ton of coal or something back in 1984 ish. Last owned by him up near Inverness Scotland. I ran the dvla check which said:

The vehicle details for EJS 796E are:
Date of Liability 01 06 1986
Date of First Registration 01 02 1967
Year of Manufacture Not Available
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2286CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour GREY
Vehicle Type Approval

I have wrote a letter to them requesting previous keepers etc. Anyone have any ideas on how I could track her down. Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Chris

Sorry about your dad mate.
That old bus hasnt been on the road for a while then looking at dvla's data.
You'd be able to find more out if you had the chassis number, I'm guessing you dont have it though.

Sorry about your dad, there is a web site where you can check if your vehicle is insured, askMID or co.uk you could see if it has insurance on it,its un likly if dvla dont have details of it.
all the best:)

The DVLA does have gen on it, the op posted it.
So they will know who the current owner is, or at least who has the log book if the vehicle has been dumped or broken.
Thing is I thing they are compelled not to tell you, if you ask them nicely they are able to contact the current owner asking them to contact you, costs you a tenner though.

As the DVLA still list it, then it has not officially been scrapped - probably lying in a field - or a barn if you are really lucky - and probably still in the Inverness area. An advert in a local paper - farming section - might be worth a punt. :)

It may pay to ask the S2 Club, they have a DVLA officer who would porbably be able to help -it may even be listed in the club - you never know! series2club.co.uk
