just ordered my egr blankin kit with new turbo top hose,
coz the egr has sprung a leak an me landy sounds like its hissed off, and this way my missus won't moan coz i'm spending more money on me baby,
it sounds easy to do BUT has anyone had trouble with bolts snapping or other problems in fitting new blanking kit or taking the old sh*t off,
any usefull advice please
thanks in advance
nick

WD40'd the day before to help loosen the bolts up. I couldn't get a socket type allen key onto my bolts and using a normal L type allen key meant I couldn't get enough force on them. I ended up removing the egr valve-to-pipe bolts first to give me more space. Then I used a rounded nut extracting socket on the buggers.

did mine recently, use wd every day before kit arrives.

mine took about 20 mins to take off and put new kit on,

mine came off very easy! don,t know if i was lucky?

all i did was keep applying wd 40 every day.....

noticed the difference as soon as i took it for a spin....
engine sounded more alive than before.

you,ll have to let us know how you get on when yours arrives

It shouldnt be a problem... but if you are worried about it
there was a thread not so long ago where someone sheared a bolt doing the EGR... a search may turn it up?

right then! thanks lads:D it came today, fitted it took about 20 mins,
had been using wd40 since saturday, pulled up at work yesterday afternoon an i had smoke pothering from the bonnet:eek:
and i mean LOADS of smoke, thick grey smoke, some of the lads from work thought me landy was fooked:eek:
but just told em it was wd40 burning off:rolleyes: it dont half stink when it smokes:rolleyes:

but car feels more responsive, even at low revs it just wants to go,
and i'm sure it sounds quieter,
hope it passes emmisions test at mot:eek:

mine passed MOT emissions no probs!
did you see all the marmite gundge it had left behind??

now when you get the chance, flush your intercooler and clean out your inlet manifold.
