Hello this is my first time on here and was wondering if anyone would be able to help me.

For a while I have been experiencing coolant loss and white smoke from the exhaust. After reading allot of threads about cracked heads and getting very depressed I id better check a few other possibility's first.

I have just found my missing coolant inside egr cooler! As i was planning to blank the egr anyway am i right in thinking i don't need the cooler anymore?
As don't want to buy a new cooler if its not needed.

If this is the case can I just join the cooler inlet and outlet together or do i need to reroute more of the hoses? I did have a bit of a look but the the inlet looks alot smaller and the outlet seems to go into a metal pipe.

any help would be much appreciated (its a td5 02 defender).
cheers

Simple solution is to blank the EGR at the manifold and remove the cooler completely.
You could just join the two coolant pipes together. Another way is to plug the coolant pipes as they only service the EGR cooler. I removed them as its less to leak and looks neater under the bonnet.
