ECU reset

Can you reset the ECU yourself or does the dealer need to do this.

( yes I know I can also burn it...)

What exactly do you need to do? If you go through the clear fault codes process with a generic odb code reader I think it also resets any adaptations.

you can re set generic stored fault codes yourself . . . . . but will need a reader, is this what you mean ?

Thank all, I had the problem with the RPMS going down to slow, so I cleaned it all but still had the proble. Thought I needed to reset the ECU or so.

But today all was fine. He only hangs a bit at 1100 rpms, en than slowly goes to 900 but it is better than it was.
