Why do people go and bid against each other when the auction still has like 6 or 7 days to run, all they do is push up the price all week for no reason!

The last 30 seconds is all that counts and we could all save so much money!

Mind you thats not so good if you are selling lol:D

Yeh but the initial bidders obviously have a set budget and are only bidding to their limits in the hope they get a bargain, simple answer is if you feel the price is to high when you want to start bidding dont bid.You
cant have it both ways.Supply and demand you either want it or not.:)

Ebay is not always good. Got done just before Xmas by jtfreeservice also called himself essexcountyhorseboxes. They were breaking a P38 & I needed a lower tailgate. They said it was undamaged. Oh Yea!! A dent, corrosion on bottom edge and someone had hit it with an angle grinder, going through the aluminium skin.
Agreed a return & Pickup, never happened. Phone switched off, never there, someone else answers phone.
So be warned about these guys. Get photos first.

Sellers mates trying to increase the selling price.......

I agree with these comments, you can find genuine bargains on ebay, but the majority of sellers are scam artist or just out n out tw*ts. Some peoples version of the condition of the item you bid on is just pure fantasy, these tw*ts should be lined up and shot that way people would have to be more honest about items they put up for auction. But the worlds to pc for that to ever happen so in the meantime we just have to be careful what we bid on

Yeah but its a week long , and it only means they end up paying more too!
simply not true.Ebay will bid for you.So i want to pay say a tenner i will put in a tenner. The ebay sysytem will register this and bid my money accordingly. If the starting bid is 99p then it adds a pound(or wotrever) everytime someone else adds a bid.
Only proper mugs will bid in the last 30 seconds.Wot if some who bids the same as you has a higher internet speed?Youve missed out on an item you've waited all week for!!!

I know it can seem frustrating but some people are just stupid and will pay well over the odds for something. That's why it's a good place to sell stuff.

As a buyer, you just have to set yourself a budget and don't go over it - it might take longer to find something (I've been after a complete EAS box for months now but I want it cheap!).

I have used auction sniper a couple of times, but have been put off after a near disaster with it when I was bidding for my P38 (accidentally put rather too much in as my maximum bid (extra 0 on the end - oops) and it wouldn't let me change it or cancel it. That last 30 seconds was an exercise in utter panic! So I knew I was going to win it, but luckily everyone else chickened out so didn't end up paying too much more than I budgeted for.

Tis' true as Fook m8 as they put the price up if they bid there tenner on day one, as it goes up all day with other idiots bidding on day one too, your at you max on that first day.

If you all bid right near the end on day 7 there is not enough time to reach that £10!

If me n you were to both bid a tenner for an item, but i bid first i would win it cos i bid first even though we bid the same.So if i bid on the first day and forgett about it, I win. You'll have waited a week, bid very last second and got nuffink to show for it.Ebay is best used when you are prepared to lose auctions. If yer desperately need summit bin or go to the shops.

Yeah but by day 7 its £100 because you started the bidding on day one with a £10!

BS

it's £100 because someone is prepared to pay £100 for the item
exactly.
If I think the items worth a tenner, or the most im prepared to pay is a tenner, then i bid, guess wot, a tenner. If the auction doesnt reach this price-happy days i got a bargin. If it does, no loss i was prepared to pay that price and not a penny more.

Its about getting the best price , not the full price, if your buying that is!

you get the best price by bidding as much or little as your willing to pay - and then walking away, bidding the minimum at the last few seconds is pointless, you'll hardly ever win anything

a better approach is to have ebay tell you when a certain item comes on (via their search reminders) and get in early and offer the seller a cash sale

that's how i got this tidy little diesel compression for peanuts just before xmas

Yeah but if we all waited till the end you might have got it for a tenner.

It seems like people want to be the highest bidder on any given day when the last day is all that counts! last few seconds really!

No use to any one being the highest bidder on day three of a seven day auction is it!
