eBay 300tdi diesel pump!

Well I bought a 300tdi diesel pump of eBay in good working order. It arrived today. I got it out of the box but I cannot turn the end of the pump by hand a full rotation

is this normal? I haven't got another one to compare it with!

Yes, there are two big springs inside that push rollers on to a wavy cam. You need a fair bit of force to overcome the spring pressure.

I think I could move it if I put a bar across the end drive but I can only get it to move slightly backward and forward with my hand and I'm not a little bloke if you know what I mean. I just hope it's ok. Thanks for letting me know.
