There is what looks like a vacuum pipe in the my 300TDi defender injector pump which I can't work out where it goes too. Can anyone help please?

When I still had my egr valve fitted on the D1 300 tdi that rubber thing used to have a pipe connected to the egr
It now goes into a 1 L coke bottle as it leaks about 500 ml per 1000 km
So I suspect it was designed to allow the small amount of diesel that would normally leak into the chamber to be removed

actually i lied
the pipe was fitted to the "ecu' that provided the signal to the egr valve to open or close

Thank you. That explains why I couldn't figure out where it goes. The egr has been removed.
