scam!

There seem to be a lot of 90s coming up on eBay that are very cheap for what they are. There is no bidding on them, just some vague details about the Defender and a contact number/email. I presume the price is to grab attention, but the real price is much higher. It could be a way of avoiding eBay fees, but still getting the exposure. Either that, or a scam. I enquired about one such car a few months back. I was encouraged to pay using PayPal, and the car would then be delivered to me. PayPal does not offer any protection on such a purchase, so I declined. I fired many questions about the car to the seller, but all the replies were vague and felt evasive. Be careful! If it's too good, and all that...

Loads of scams on eBay, I emailed about a 90 on there months ago which was way underpriced, had an email back from the so called owner and said that she was living abroad and the car was with a storage company and that If paid the storage company direct then the car would be delivered, thought it too good to be thue so declined. I wonder how many people have actually fell for it, when I was searching for a 90 I kept my eye on eBay for a while and one 90 I saw was listed 5 different times well underpriced and in different locations each time.

It's a pity. I bought my 90 on eBay from a very reliable seller and got a good deal. What you describe, Midge28, is very similar to what I experienced.
