East Sussex calling

It really depends where you are and what the lanes are like, I can't think of much in Sussex where you'd struggle in a 130 and places like Salisbury Plain you'd be fine but I spent a weekend in Yorkshire at the end of June and people were having to shunt back and forward to get round some corners in 110s, dry stone walls and rocks are less forgiving than hedges!!

Late to the party by some amount but I'm bang up for. Anyone around the eastbourne area? Got a disco 1 that is running well for the moment and I'm looking for some folks to go exploring with! I've found a few potential lanes but I'm not massively experienced at handling the trickier stuff as this is my first 4x4!

You'll be fine round here, there's nothing very challenging in Sussex, though the Pevensey marsh lanes have a reputation for being very muddy, I wouldn't venture into them alone, most of the other lanes- old coach road, robin post, Jevington and the cluster around rotherfield and around Hastings are mostly not challenging, still a nice drive though

All open to your knowledge?

Yeah mine isn't up to that kind of plugging! I'm after a little bit of slip'n'slide but not 'all hands, prepare to dive'.
Top job on the trayback! Is that a recovery shackle on the roll cage pillar?

Im around most weekends and ive only picked her up this weekend so im looking forward to trying her out and i know all the lanes around rotherfield as thats where im near! When are you available
I work odd hours so usually Saturday, Wednesday and Thursday, although it does change. The big test would be if my D1 actually makes it to Rotherfield!

Doesn't look like I'll be doing next weekend, I've just got back from Scotland and the drive has highlighted a few issues, looks like I'll be spannering instead of Laning next weekend.

Mines in bits and the weather is hampering any sort of progress :(

I am thinking about scouting out a route for the lanes that are not subject to winter closures for later on in October before the surfaces become too susceptible to damage.

Sounds good to me, you got much to do to yours?

Oh yes :(

Believe it or not this is actually the rear sill body mount

I'm chopping the sills right out and replacing them with box section and brand new YRM body mounts, got new wheel tubs, boot floor side sections and a new boot floor to go in as well as a repair to the chassis, won't take too long but need the weather on my side a little for the amount of welding I've gotta do!

What's up with yours then mate?
