I think its 50/50 at the moment if i will bring p38 or navara, will proberbly come down to a toss of a coin on the morning to decide wich will give me less problems. But will definatly be one or other. Had a look on youtube at some of the lanes mentioned, look good some good sceneary etc. Bit worried by the amount of water on sone though, i have holes in my floor, might ave to drive in my wellies.

I've already excused myself from work next Saturday and am waiting for a break in the weather to get out there and top up the transfer box, drain and refill the swivel housings with one~shot & fresh oil, I did sense a rumble from the front output bearings a few days ago but should be good enough for a day out on the lanes, not like we're going to a rock-em sock-em robot wars meetup is it lol

Wish i could wait for a break in tje weather, Today is my last chance due to working away all next week, im currently very wet and cold repairing diff breathers in about a foot of mud and torrential rain, itl proberbly be glorious sun all next week haha.

Thankyou very much :)

I'm Gatwick way but can get to Dorking for the initial meet no problems. I suppose it depends where we veer off to after that where problems could arise if I need to get back to the car !

Apologies, but it now looks like I won't be joining you next Saturday due to an unavoidable change in plans :(
I'm sure there will be other opportunities later in the year, so please let me know when you decide to do another trip.
With the change in weather it might be rather muddy so enjoy yourselves.
Happy trails,
capo

I know the pain of petrol land rovers, they barely need to see clouds in the skies before they start misfiring and beggaring around :D

No worries Jon, better weather in the summer and maybe a weekends camping to tempt you ;)

Well chaps, despite heroic efforts from @flat & @RIchard Savage (who fixed the first issues !) the Defender has developed another unrelated problem, and therefore won't be coming out to play next Saturday.... :(

But....does anyone have room for a passenger if I buy them breakfast ? :D

Sorry Stu, I'm only 2 seats in the Disco and the missus is well up for the ride out or I'd pick you up mate.

Chaps, if no-one can do it or it's too far out of peoples way to make it work it's not a problem :) I know the plan is to venture off elsewhere, so then expecting someone to drop me back is a big ask ! If it doesn't work out then so be it - but the Defender will be ready for the next one ! :p

May still join you for breakfast though !

Just had a look at the map, not sure where we will end up but chances are i will be heading back in the general direction of the cafe on way home anyway so cant see it being an issue to drop you back to your car.

Now it's got no power steering - in itself not a problem, but I run 33' tyres....so it's a tad heavy at slow speeds, and combined with my utter inexperience off road it's going to be too much for me.
