hi lads, has anybody had any problems with eas kicker lite ,had it now about 5 months now and still cant get it to clear faults ,it used to say bad reply in wake up ,or timer relay problem, ive changed timer relay ,and ecu still getting the same readings, iwas wondering could the kicker lite be faulty.cheers pat

plug is clean(they are notorious) and you have checked if ignition needs to be on

The eas has it's own dedicated pin on the obd socket, can't remember which one but a quick search will tell you. Find this, clean it up and I recon you'll be on your way.

i know others have had issues with the corrosion in the obd connector and the ones behind the kick panel!!!

i soldered into the wires behind the obd connector so i don't have any issues!!!

Hiya Pat, i did reply to your PM, dunno if you got that.
These are all tested on a real wiriing harness and ECU before shipping and are of simple and robust construction, so i don't think that there is a high chance its the unit thats the problem.
In fact we have never had a faulty one ever. :D

But of course there is always a first

Anyway, can you feel the timer relay click when you plug it in, and can you try it on another P38. Also check you are getting a good strong earth to the Diagnostic socket on pins 4 and 5, sometimes what looks good with a meter breaks down when you try and put a little current through it.
