I am having intermittent problems with eas on my 1997 p38
when parking the car, if i leave the engine running a couple of minutes so the suspension is settled, all is usually fine. If I turn the ignition off straight away, the car drops to the bump stops. On starting back up again, the suspension takes a while to get to normal ride height sometimes as much as half an hour. Other times the car looks fine when parked, but when someone gets in the suspension drops again, and will again take an age to raise. There are no obvious leaks although the airbags do look past their best and ready for replacing. The other thing I have found is, if the car won't raise itself, running the compressor using storey wilsons software for about 5 mins then starting the car results in it raising straight away.

Has anyone else had the same problems or an ideas?

sounds like an air leak,it maybe a case of getting a spray bottle with some soapy water and sray around all the airsprings, air pipes leading to the airsprings and then around the valve block and air dryer, thats the first thing i would do.

hi mate i got same problem! how do i reset the ecu ? what is the storey wilsons software help pleasse thanks jon

Had the same problem a while ago, kept telling me EAS fault, then bump, all gone riding on bump stops, max speed 50k, had to replace front air sup valves, cost a few bob, so be carefull, get it checked-out asp.
