hi im not sure if my compressor has gone or if its somthing else
a few days ago it developed the dreaded 35mph beep beep i pulled over to find it had stayed raised (soft fault) started her up and i limped home and left it for the night.
next day i went out to reset the ecu and the engine wouldnt start i traced it back to a maxi fuse (cant remember the fuse number without going back out but it powered the started moter and the eas 30 amp) anyway i replaced the fuse started her up and the eas went straight into hard fault, droped on its arse.
i reset the faults with easunlock and now it wont lift.
i put my hand on the compressor itself and it was stone cold (even after 20mins)
ive tryed jumping it from pin 3-5 on the relay and the compressor just clicks sounds like a relay inside it??
has it got a relay inside or is there any other way to test it
any help is greatfull
 
it blew maxi fuse no2 its marked up as powering the eas and SM (starter moter)
but worth noteing it dident blow straight away, i drove the car home and started it a few times before leaving it for the night.

If you take the compressor out you're left with the feed pipe from it into the rest of the system. If you could bodge some connection from another compressor onto that pipe, gaffer tape springs to mind, and you might be able to pump the system up.

However that depends on how good the rest of your system is. Obviously a slight leak anywhere might have been camouflaged whilst your compressor was running. With the bodge you'd only have what's in the system.
 
the green wire on the pump is the +ve feed
just send a fused 12 volt feed to the green wire leave the plug connected
alternatively just bridge connectors 30 and 87 of the eas pump relay in the fuse box use a fused link
if your pump is the original just buy a new one it will be worn out any way around £200

just been out and the fuse has blown again anyone know what part of the eas it powers?
im suspecting its gona be the compressor but need to be sure
not checked with a direct feed yet its too dark now ill do that in the morning

The same thing happened on my P38 last year. Maxi fuse was blowing because the piston arm inside the EAS pump had shattered and jammed istself inside the little cylinder. The clicking you are hearing is not a relay - it is likely your broken piston hitting the cylinder wall.
Get a new (second hand) pump and you will be golden.
 
ive been out and the comressop not responding to direct feed so ive took it out and opened it theres a strong smell of burnt, and a fine coat of black soot on all the electrics inside.
in other words ITS COOKED
two things i now need to know

1. what could cause that cos its only 3 years old
2. any one in or near leeds with a working one for sale that can deliver
 
Leaking airbags are the most common cause, the compressor flogs itself to death trying to keep up with the leaks. Try Island 4 X 4, I think it was them that had Dunlop compressors for about £138 new

Just backing up DATATEK (as if he needs it). Don't bother with second hand ones, Island indeed have original Dunlop pumps and their delivery is good. Having rebuilt my original - dutch bits - and it starting to fail again after a few months, I reckoned that if the first one lasted ten years it was well worth buying the same again.

About £164.00 got one from them a few weeks ago comes in a Britpart box but is made by Dunlop. Apart from none painted pump casing outwardly identical to genuine one. Don't know about internally. Works fine.

Stay away from the Dutch's kit. Spent this morning rebuilding my compressor seal (after having installed one of those in October) with a kit from Island (Eurospares) and it's working much better than it ever did with the other seal.
