EAS Compressor Blue hose.

Hi all

The blue hose on my EAS compressor has split inside the union. Looks like the red collet has cut through the hose and now needs replaced. Question is; where can I get a replacement and is it a main dealer only part? However, I don't like bodging, but I have a rubber hose from a foot pump that I was going to sleeve in the blue hoses.

Is it not just a piece of standard plastic air pipe?

That price is a bit stiff! Not sure Datatek, I have clear pipes for window washers, but think they will be a bit too soft considering the heat generated from the pump. I could experiment I suppose. I've a length of fuel pipe that has just the right internal diameter I could heat the hose in a pan of hot water then sleeve in the blue pipes. Bit of a bodge, but will do in the meantime.

It is plastic but what kind of plastic i have no idea. With the price Land rover want for one it must be Platinum lined and the collars and tube nuts are 24 carat gold.

Go to a compressed air parts supplier with the pipe, I'm sure you will be able to buy a suitable piece of high pressure pipe. Window washer pipe will not stand the pressure, nor will anything else not designed to cope with 200psi and heat. (Pump pressure is not actually 200psi, more like 152psi.)

I am sure that its standard nylon air line, 6mm dia available from most hgv suppliers used for air braking systems

That is what it appears to be, have one in my hand as we speak. The ends are swaged fittings. Were the pipe is pushed onto the inner portion of the fitting which prevents collapse and the action of nipping the tube nut up swages the outer sleeve over the pipe. These connectors are £8.65 each from Land rover.

Hi, I think I may have a spare blue pipe with fixings on a spare valve block if your stuck, let me know and I can post it up to you.

look for Compression Fittings. Something like this:
Pneumatic Airline Fittings - Brass Wade Fittings - Compression fittings - Spare nuts & Olives - Compression Nuts - 6mm - Pneumatic Fittings - Airline Fittings from airlinefittings.co.uk

Pipe must be high-temp nylon. PVC pipe will get too hot and burst (voice of experience.)

You also want couple of these to push inside the pipe.

Airtek have a guy in Bolton who will sell air pipe and fittings. He was very helpful to me on phone and very reasonable price. He says it is not nylon but polycarbonate to cope with pressure.

That would be good, Thanks. I'll send you a PM. I managed to locate some places who do these pipes/hoses, but they were closed yesterday and it's a holiday weekend The fittings on Pete's link do not resemble the fittings on my pipe, I'll do a further search for the right ones. Hopefully I can use my fittings on new pipe and it's a simple job of heating the pipe until soft, then press in the fitting, better still, they can do it for me.
Anyway, just out of curiosity, I sleeved an 6" length of fuel hose I had then fitted it to the compressor, took 10 minutes. Started the engine, the suspension started to lift then Phoooosh, the fuel hose departed company with the blue hose

You cannot reuse the fittings. The outer sleeve is crimped onto the pipe as the tube nut is tightened trapping the pipe between the inner and outer sleeves. You can use the inner support sleeves and olives you can get on eBay if you can get hold of a length of 6 mm O/D 4 mm I/D suitably heat resistant pipe.

Someone at Land Rover either has a REALLY quirky sense of humour or a problem knowing where to put the decimal point.
