Earth wire/cable under TD5 battery box? I'm lost

Hi all. I have a 2005 TD5 110 that I decided to do some work on over the winter. It wasn't supposed to be the whole winter but its turned out that way.

Anyway, I'm putting it back together but this cable has me beat. Its a brown wire at one end and a thread and nut at the other and cable tied to 2 brackets that attach to the panel behind the seats and the seat runners. I'm guessing its a ground wire/cable but for the life of me I can't recall were the ends go. Would anyone be able to guide me looking at the photos?

That looks like one of the main live feed wires into, or out of, the drivers seat fuse box. This is assuming the wiring is anything like the TDCi?

On a TDCI, the end that is threaded looks like it connects to the main battery fuse, the other end looks like it screws down onto the fuse box. Open the drivers seat fuse box and see if it’s missing a wire, but don’t connect it until you can find where the other end goes.

The bolt end looks like it goes through the battery post clamp itself.

PS on the older models, brown meant main power ie live.

Guys thank you for posting, really appreciate the help. I'm not convinced its a positive, I just have it in my head its an earth for something?

earth would be black, brown is battery live,looks like battery clamp to a fuse box type connector

The only brown used for earth would be on a VW BROWN=BATTERY FED CIRCUIT

Guys you were 100% right. It was in deed the cable that goes to the positive terminal and into the fuse box under the drivers seat. Thank you so much for all your guidance it is appreciated as always.
