L322 Early satnav woes

Been sorting through upgrading the original satnav maybe using a hybrid box for digital etc but come across something wierd happening.

In the SET menu changed screen colour and arrival to outside temp and the radio/ibc option. Sorted. But ignition off and it all changes back again.??

Turned on MEMO ? Same thing but radio presets and bass treble etc are all saved fine but so assuming the perm live is ok but seen somewhere there's a battery back up somewhere ?

Any tips ?

Collins map book?

To be honest after the first time I tried it I did wonder if it would be better using an atlas. Lol

Probably not gonna use the sat nav or the TV as we all got Google maps and phones nowadays but the trip computer etc is useful if it didn't keep defaulting. Aggggh

Ye and use it all time so satnav n TV can swing tbh. It's just figuring out why the settings menu won't save anything

Just been looking at fuses for the non working rear wiper and seen that the fuse for the satnav has terminals and a wire running from it off to the left then back through a separate fuse holder. With another connection into a fuse slot further left.
Need to strip out the glovebox and see what and why there's been a 'repair' in the past

I reckon it's been tapped into an ignition only supply after a fault or melted fuse maybe. New battery and alternator recent too so may have been draining battery.

May even find the fix for hill descent not working too
