DVD SATNAV UPDATE

2004 TD6 vogue

I have now got my TD6 through the mot having had to fit a new LCM and renew front suspension arms

now I want to upgrade the satnav disc. I have a 2008 dvd All I can find is a 2018/19 disc. Is there a more up to date one that anyone knows of

Work on my TD6 as they dont do an update for the TD6 system apparently

that’s why I asked on this site but I will look on my phone in future if that’s the attitude

Marjon is saying to use your phone as a sat nav, most people do as its free works better and is up to date.

Well I am sorry you seem to have taken my post the wrong way. But what I posted was from a quick search and thought it was a nice upgrade, although expensive.

I could have suggested get a map.

When I was using the 630r in the UK I topped it up with the phone for the final bit and general common sense, as a 2001 disc is useless now.

So will you now share what you have found for others benefit?

In car satnav is a waste of time here in France, it's always out of date. Google maps on the other hand is pretty much always up to date and easier to plot a route on the kitchen table rather than sat in the car freezing at this time of year.

Did you fit a new LCM or a used recoded one?
Your answer may help others with the same issue.

I looked at that a while ago and as well as the cost I think you also lose the 4x4 screen and a few other functions. Maybe FBH, clock etc.

I'd possibly be interested in the 2021 dvd if it works. Not sure if this is right but I'm sure I read that the DVD has the files for the voice commands as well so they will need to be on the disc.

Google maps every time. You also loose the fuel consumption data which is what keeps my right foot light.

Think you've got problems... My 2001 vogue has the disc Sat Nav.. but no chance of upgrading that.
Massive areas of the UK road network built after 2004 don't exist, (that was the last ever upgrade..EVER!!) So most routes in real time are just green blanks on the screen.
Just waiting for the voice to say one day.."I remember when this was all fields..."

Mine has a 2005 disc so same issue with roads. I have a 7" satnav with lifetime updates, and have just started using google maps but there has been lots of discussions about map updates.
It would be nice if the OP updated us with his findings.
