Jack give us ya td5 when you've rebuilt it and you can me 200tdi and will put twin snorkel on it lol for u lol? ;)

Yehhh it be fineee!!
You know my mate jake don't ya? We rebuilding a 02 td5 he's got we've stripped it down to chassis and the ECU has thrown a massive tantrum and all the dash wiring is shagged so it's been doing nothin for last few months lol!

Bloody hell just what you need. Touch wood the engine harness and all the bulkhead harness looks good. Chassis harness is shagged but thats not to much to re wire.

Ahh fair enoughhh. I've had to re wire my chassis as it had chaffed through by the rear x member so have run it ontop of the chassis rail, I recommend ya do that! Yeh he baught it with no ignition barrel or anything and the ECU has been messed about with so it all needs plugging in and sorted. It is 100% legal don't worry you lot out there lol!!! ;)

yeh i was looking at where to run it looks bloody hard working putting it back up through the chassis haha

Yeh don't do that. Honestly run it along the top of the chassis inside a protective cable sleeve plastic flexi jobby and cable tie it down all way along ;)

think that might be a plan. got to try find out where the earthing problem is first. if i had the side lights on and foot on the brake i could take keys out of ignition and engine would carry on running haha

Nope cos my 300 has a MAF on it ;) its 98 and dads 97 has a maf too

e
Nver seen edc fitted to defender before
Is it original fit?
I know is was std on auto disco tdi 96 on as the bhp went from 111bhp to 122, didnt make any difference still as slow as ####!

The twin snorkels you see on some defenders are not actually both connected or required for air flow. The "other" one is there to protect the heater when you go wading or dunking it in mud.

The reason that most defenders have problems with the heating is because the box is abused by water/mud/leaves etc every day. Think about the **** that gets pulled into it! and then some daft #### takes it through wing height gloopy mud and water :p

Personally i think twin snorkels looks hideous(I've never liked symmetry) but each to there own i suppose.

I'm with GINGE, I think they look like your just trying too hard lol unless you really need it due to the engine being starved with one snorkel just as a supercharged V8 or very heavily tuned TD5.

I probably should get one as mine is tries to swallow standard air-filters. The K&N seems to be holding up ok though but for a twin intake feed, I'm going to fit a standard 200tdi wing vent and have a valve just inside it actuated by a solenoid with a little switch in the dash if I can get something guaranteed to be air tight. Will probably try get one that's seals when there's no power to it too so that if something goes wrong, it'll be closed.

Hopefully it will work... surely be cheaper than another Safari snorkel too :p
