Im about to service my r/r but was told by a bloke in the spares shop that once the oil and filter are changed it needs resetting cos the engine wont start is this true?

i changed all the oils and filters on my p38 doozil and it started with no problems.

Go in and ask him for a waterpump for a air cooled VW.
I went ino our local Ford dealer a while back for a oil filter for my Cosworth and he said he had never heard of a Cosworth, i told him he needed to get out more
