did anyone mention MAP or injector 4 failure/disconected yet? I think they could give these symptoms.

They have been mentioned so many times in so many threads, yet it's a revelation when someone finds MAP sensor pipe clogged or split. Does no one ever read through previous thread answers? About time we had a common problems indexed data base. Then we would not have to keep typing the same answers to the same old questions time after time.

Ah but it keeps you out of mischief and stops you dreaming of that naughty Ladyranger:rolleyes:;);)

Think she has fallen out with me. She has called me bad things, if i ever see her i will give her botty a jolly good spanking. :D:D:D

By heck if your missus ever stumbles across this site you'll be in twouble:eek:
Even bigger trouble if Ladyranger comes looking for you for a bit of sadomasochistic nooki:eek::eek::eek:

Apologies for reviving old thread....

Noticed today, on removing my inlet manifold to replace glowplugs, that the MAP sensor pipe is split, right next to the end that goes onto the manifold nipple. My DSE is also one that struggles to climb hills and feels generally underpowered above 50-60 mph.

What can I replace the pipe with, besides the genuine LR part? I know it's not ordinary vacuum pipe (the opposite, in fact - pressure pipe!) but is there a readily-available substitute? Aero, did you ever get round to 'upgrading' your MAP pipe? If so, what did you use?

You should be able to use spill pipe, like the ones used between the injectors

Going to do the leak-off pipes whilst I'm in there as well, since there's a little pool of diesel in the no 1 injector well. Do Halfrauds normally stock the correct piping?

Cor this threads a blast from the past when i knew nothing! Not much has changed...

The pipes vacuum anyway so you wouldnt even need to fit clamps with a good fitting pipe. Just used a length of fuel pipe left over from the spill pipes.

Dont even bother with them....I saw their 'kits' the other day...There was one for a vauxhall vectra (£8.99) :S and a 'universal kit' (£10.49) for four cylinders, that was it. To me that's a bit pricey and better off getting a quality 3mm ID fuel pipe/spill pipe of eBay, usually by the metre. I brought 2m of there which is plenty. Or local motor factors.

Carefully Dab out the number 1 well with a screwdriver and rag or kitchen roll. I had this on mine and thought it was diesel however was actually an accumulation of oil that used to leak (only very slightly) from the filler cap and down the side.
