On my way home tonight, there was a loud bang in my front passenger wheel arch. After inspecting it it seems to have bent the new drop link near the top.

Before I changed the drop link the ride height on the passenger side was 10mm higher than the drivers side.
I replaced both sides last week and the passenger side measured 15mm higher, even though they both were the same make and same size.

Has anybody else had this issue, or know why its 10mm higher on the passenger side?

Thanks
Rob

Ensure you fit the right ARB Drop Links when you replace them.
143mm = to VIN YA999999
158mm = VIN 1A000001 on

Maybe as some point someone fitted an incorrect pair causing damage to the ARB,,.. or even worse... maybe it's been in a bump???

Were you flexing the suspension at all when it went bang, like over a speed bump?

I have a feeling that the ARB was redesigned in 2001 and if you use the shorter droplinks will foul something...

Mine's been making an awful bang for a while when you take it over something that really flexes the suspension - going to unbolt it all tomorrow and take it for a drive I think.

it could be a heavy person has been sitting in the driver seat for some years and that why it is lower as the spring that side has gone down a bit

I know have put some weight on, but I didn't think it was that much:)

I have measured all wheel centres to the wheel arch, the rears and drivers measure the same, put passenger front his higher
