As well as it squealing like a stuck pig?

Is there any movment in the bushes? Cos if not that isn't the problem ;)

As for changing yer bushes I'd go OEM but then each to their own ;)

it past its mot ok just had new steering box fitted been told a normal fault with bigger tyres and wheels on td5 18inch thought of going down replacing with 16 inch wheels. with regards to bushes how much do you think to replce all bushes by a garage.

Check all your steering components, bearings ( front ones and back ones ;))

As for your bigger wheels it kind of depends on what tyres are fitted.
If the rolling circumference is bigger than standard then they would only tend to magnify a tracking misalignment I think :)

my grandad used to have a shogun with rather wide wheels 245 i think and regularly had problems with it wondering a lot. sorted it by swapping to narrower tyres 225. but i agree it depends on the type of tyre and could also be a lot of other things

The steering on my TD5 seemed to get progressively worse over about 12 months. Hard to steer in a straight line. A nightmare on the "motorway" tramlines. Generally felt horrible, like there was a load of "play" in the steering. I kept reporting it to the garage whenever it was in for service or repairs and they kept saying they couldn't find anything.

Anyway....to cut a long story short........a set of new tyres on the rears and the old rears onto the front........balance all round and set tracking (which the man said was well out!!) and I have my old Landy back again. The transformation was remarkable.........may not be your problem, but worth considering!!
