has nebody fitted these lights to their freelander 1,this kit has everything u need to fit,my question is,how hard are they to fit, thanks for your help guys,Subcom

I haven't fitted that kit, but I have fitted 6 to mine, and countless others to other cars. It all depends on where you want to mount them. It looks like that kit is bumper mounts, so as long as you can get to the underside to tighten the bolts, it's a piece of cake.

Wiring them in requires a little thinking about. How do you want to switch them on and off? Ignition live, battery live, lights live, switched with the main beam?

hiya mate, its got all switches etc in the kit but I thought about just having them wired into the main, beam,am I right in saying I need a new relay, live feed to bty, with inline fuse, and wired to main beam wire, and not forgetting earth lol, then wire to lamps, thanks for ur input

If the kit doesn't contain a relay, then yeah you will need a 12V 4 pin relay (don't get the 5 pin as the middle pin will always be live).

Take a fused battery feed straight into the relay, make this wire as short as possible or keep the fuse as close to the battery terminal as possible.
Then run an earth cable from the relay.
Take a feed from the main beam live (scotch lock is easiest, but not the best).
Then go from the relay to the lights.
Earth the other wire from the bulbs and away you go.

hi

may i ask what the part number is please and where you got them from please and where they very expensive

many thanks

I have drilled my bumper, but not where most people mount these types of lights. Mine is drilled at the bottom grill with two in there, I wouldn't say it ruins the bumper.

I don't know of the freelander specific brackets will let you mount them without drilling the bumper.

thks have been trying to find the mounting bracket instructions, it looks as though you drill the metal bracket but not the plastic bumper

also wondered what the part numbers and cost of lights like that would cost and in having all the wiring with it

thks again

gary

these mount onto the metal section behind the bumper then poke out over the top, the spotlights then bolt to the bracket.

You don't need to drill/cut the bumper, but you will need to remove it in order to fit the bracket.

Spotlight bracket mounting kit for Land Rover Freelander 1 spot lamp light NEW | eBay

The genuine LR wiring kits are great because everything you need is there, including relays etc. It just plugs onto the back of the fuseboard where there is a socket already there for it. Will need to have a double jointed head, great sense of touch and a mirror to plug the jumper in though. I ended up dropping the fuseboard out to try and see what I was doing.

Hiya op, how the devil are you did u ever get your hawkeye sorted out

Thks for the info, about the brackets

Plus do not happen to know what the wiring kit part numbers are please, looked through the rave cd and seemed so many there

You don't happen to know what the cost is please

Thks so much as always for the great info
