Hi all

Looking at some hacks for keeping the driveway clear of oil on my 90.
I was wondering if any of you put anything down on the driveway after you park up - to act as barrier for the oil?

( I know it's a faff - but 5 extra min putting something in place is alot better than a woman scorned! )

I was having a look on Amazon last night and found these that look quite good
Effectively like a drip tray - ( i did search for drip trays - and they're expensive - when all you're trying to do is create a bit a barrier between the landy and the wife's paving )

Amazon product

( Attached a pic as well - they're only 20 odd quid - and I was thinking a couple of these placed strategically underneath could work well )

Was just wondering if any of you had something which you use to slide under when parked up - just to avoid any potential divorces?

Thanks as always!

Garden centre shallow plastic tray (about 2 inches deep 4 feet by 18 inches) fill with gravel to stop blowing away, cover gravel with chicken wire to stop cats crapping in it.
Tray catches oil drips, gravel and chicken wire means nobody or animals can walk on said oil drips.

This is a great suggestion!! Thank you! 👌

Sod the cat bum if the oil leaves it mark let the owner suffer.

I thought it might be easier just to spray the entire driveway with waste oil 🤣 Make it a feature!

I've got about 80 litres of it here currently and just had the driveway done early this month... but it's about 500m2, so I might need to drive the Disco around on it a bit, too 😁

I have a leak from the transfer box, not the o ring I have done that, I stretch a bungee strap from each chassis rail and sit one of them shallow trays on it.
Yes I have driven off a couple of times with the tray still attached!
Will change the sump gasket when I change the oil.
No other leaks and my son's 200tdi doesn't have any leaks.

The old rubber backed mats you get in business receptions etc. Rubber backed, carpet like top so oil doesn't just run off, and hard wearing so if you drive over it it's not an issue.

Also if you do get some oil on the drive, sprinkle some soda crystals on the oil. It absorbs it if you are quick enough!

If your misses car leeks oil you would get it fixed if in fact any car leeks oil you would get it fixed why because it’s a landrover! You don’t fix it is beyond me buy decent seals and fit job done the seals will be cheaper than a drip tray n a bag of cat litter

My drip tray was free.
