Hi all

I raised this a while back as just the memory had appeared to fail but now the lot has gone so the old posting heading is inaccurate.

Basically I have an issue where first of all the seat memory stopped working (although the red button still lights). Then the seat and steering adjustment started to get temperamental. Then wheel retraction when removing key stopped. Then it all stopped working completely. Now the wheel will move but only down even if you push up!

The lumber adjustment still works.

My question is, is this likely to be a failure of the switch pack or something else?

I am in no way technical or mechanically inclined (which is starting to become very expensive with a RR) but think I could just about cope with swapping the unit but don't want to spend £100 + if its the wrong part.

As always, your help is much appreciated.

Tom.

Don't you just love it when manufacturers install over complicated things you don't need that break and cost you money. Have no fear dealers are well stocked with overpriced bits to fix them.

+1 on this issue, fuses 20 and 23 need to be checked, look under seat for any worn wires causing a short was suggested but I can't see anything wrong on mine. I was hoping for other ideas for a quick fix/check to diagnose the fault exactly. Come on guys, help us out here please !

Maybe the lack of response is due to know one knows where the fault lies.

It would be a case of elimination.....the drivers seat on the early L322's is what controls the memory functions for the seats and mirrors...on the later models there is a separate ECU as far as I know and can tell from the parts listings.

Hate to point to another forum, but www.fullfatrr.co.uk are more clued up on the L322 models as that is all they deal with.....

I would say take the unit out, and give it a coat of looking at, its location leads it to getting wet when a window is open and it rains, or the door is opened while it is raining...also errant dribbles of coffee when climbing in from visiting the local Starbucks....

Hi all,
I have bought another L322 last week and i have this problem.
Seat is only just useable .. painful for long journeys in its current position so needs fixing quick.
Steering wheel and all seat adjustments do not work.
I have checked fuses 20 and 23. Both are ok.
I swapped the switch pack from my ither L322 and it did not work.

What would be the next check?

Car is a 55 Plate 2006 model year.

Thank you

As @Saint.V8 said above try the seat ECU ( unless that is what you mean by switch pack?). It was the issue when my seat and steering controls went on strike.

I can’t see a seat ECU. Is it on the seat?

The switch pack is the black side switch set. It has several connectors attached.

On my 2003 a cable goes into what might be an ecu but on the 2006 MY i dont see the same.

I tried to find a local auto electrician but no luck so far ...

Ask Ant on that one. Mine is a 2002 and it was the ECU , not sure about the set up on the 2006. Would RAVE or TOPIx not show if and where one would be?

RAVE seems to have only the 2002 seat but looking again it looks like my 2006 and 2003 seats are the same. I don’t see an ecu on either of them though.

I still cannot get to the bottom of this. Sadly every auto electrician and Land Rover specialist for miles about is booked up for weeks or not willing to take it on.
There cannot be too many weak spots between the fuse board and the seat?

Try posting in Regional LZers, to see if there is someone who can help you , locally.
