LANDROVER FREELANDER TD4 52 PLATE ......Can anyone help? ......... when I try to open the doors with the keyfob the driver's door stays locked and I have to open it using the key however I can lock all four doors and activate the alarm with key fob. Any ideas??

Also, driver's side electric window will only come slightly, it's making a grinding noise (sometimes needs help to put it back up!!!). Had the door card off and couldn't feel any frayed wires??? Any ideas?

Cheers!

On the central locking its possible that the solenoid that works the door lock is worn or lazy and not working properly - I would try a good s/h replacement and see if this solves the problem.

On the electric window I would suspect a worn cog wheel within the mechanism or a failing motor.

failed drivers door lock solenoid, replace the whole lock, part no LALR9782 - K633 Lock Assy Fro, around £72 inc vat

will take a diy fit around an hour by the time you've unclipped the door trim.

the grinding sound is the first stage of the cables which support the window failing - individual strands of the cable have snapped and are now snagging on the pulleys and guides. just going to be a matter of time before this jams, so best deal with now.

you can buy repair kits on ebay, or use a bicycle brake cable with a filed down nipple, or just buy a whole replacement regulator, depending on your patience level.

if you do a search on this forum, both issues have been covered fairly extensively, with some good instructions given.

good luck.
