drivers door wont open from outside.help plz

eyup ducks,im having a right job with this central locking,ive managed to sort out the n/s/r central locking now the drivers door wont open from the outside,the button goes up with the alarm but it wont open from the outside,i have to reach through the passenger side to open the door....its like having a mk4 cortina all over again........im losing my mind as i cant seem to get any further ahead,every problem i fix finds two more....thanks to anyone if they can suggest anything except for putting it on fleabay........kind regards

May b the lock striker plate is out of adjustment a wee bit, give it a try and move it a fraction up or down, in or out, one at a time though....the only other thing to do is have the door card off and have a look at the bits & bobs that link the lock and the handles etc together, it may a simple adjustment required there or refitting back one of the rods.

Or it might be the dreaded little round spring. Just done my rear door this morning. Back door drivers side does the same but its not much hassle to open it from drivers door.
