Drivers Door Lock Actuator Issue (Outside Handle)

Recently got myself another 300tdi disco and it is exhibiting some strange behaviour with the drivers door handle (outside).

When the vehicle is locked, if I pull on the door handle I can hear an electromechanical clicking/whirring noise from inside the door as if it is trying to open.

It's almost as if the central locking is trying to activate or partially so but it doesn't actually open until I unlock with the key.

Has anyone ever come across this before and is it an easy fix?

I should add that the door does open ok inside and out when unlocked. I'm just concerned that as it is, if someone tried a few times it might decide to unlock itself when locked ... without the key

Not me, "and is it an easy fix", but what electromechanical clicking/whirring noise?. Have the door card off and look-see the only thing in the door is a CL actuator.

It's on the list for tomorrow or the next dry day. Just thought i'd bring it up on here to give me a head start!

One more thing that doesn't really justify a new thread...

Are the window switches in the rear doors supposed to be illuminated? Cant work out if they just have blown bulbs or whether they were never meant to be illuminated in the first place

No, there's no illumination with the switches.
