Drivers door handle

Hi,
I snapped my key in the drivers door lock a while ago, and being the lazy sod that I am just left it. Well now I want to remove the broken piece, I tried to get it out with a pick set but failed miserably.

How do you get the complete handle off? I have removed the door card and the single screw that holds the handle in place but it wont budge.

What do I need to do to remove it? and would I be able to push the broken piece of key out from the back of the lock barrel once its out?

i dunno if you'll be able to extract the broken part but to remove the handle you have to release the controll rod from the latch mechanism...then be determined ...if you watch the link http://www.allbrit.de/UNI.cfm?PAGE=820807&SPRACHE=EN there's a clip(nr2.) which might keep something there

Is there a knack to getting the rod off? It seemed pretty secure when I had hold of it

All sorted now, got the handle off and managed to push the broken bit of key out from the back
