Well that was actually quite an interesting read. I've never experienced the problem before, so, don't see any need for the stuff, but, interesting all the same.

I bought some really expensive screw drivers the other day from the trade point bargain bin - which the guy then put an extra 50% off for me for some reason :D - got to say, having a good quality screw driver makes a big difference to screwing... (for once bigger is not always better...)

Another vote for that Wera screwdriver set. For medium priced tools they're really good. They're very grippy and hardly ever push themselves out of the recess in the head of the screw. The tips of mine are getting a little worn now but they've done me proud.

certainly good fitting screwdriver bits are a good start.

This is not for a screw its for getting the ACE filter out of my d2
This is held in place with a steel allen head bolt which has likely 'rusted' into the aluminium ACE block.
If the head 'rounds off' the resolution might be really difficult.

So I'm agreeing with urbanpanzer I want it to work first time.

I'm also thinking about using it on the 32mm hub nut as my hero u.p. suggests using a 1-1/4" AF hex socket when all I have at that size is a bi-hex 32mm one.

I just want these things to come off first time :)
