Hi, new here so forgive my stupidity.

Is the drag link balljoint the same as the track rod balljoint?

For a right hand drive vehicle, will the drag link balljoint (connected to the left hand wheel - not the steering box) be a right hand or left hand thread?

Thanks,
Dale

Hi Dale,
not taken a Disco drag link / track rod apart, but used to do a lot of work on them a few years ago for 90 / 110's R/rovers etc. The ball joints are interchangeable between track rod and drag link. If you have a look at the ends of the rods where the ball joints screw in to them, one of them should have some exposed threads so that you can see whether it is r/hand or l/hand. The smaller threads where the ball joints are fastened to the steering parts of the vehicle are all r/hand thread. If you have a problem and are considering changing one that is worn, while the offending article is removed you may as well change both. If they haven't been off before, then taking the ball joints out of the ends is going to be a nice steady job involving a vice if you have access to one, and a large spanner or mole grip type tool. Make sure you have a good supply of WD40 (other lubricants are available) and when putting the new ball joints in, some 'Copper Slip' or similar just to lubricate the threads for re-assembly.
Hope this info helps.
