Drab green Yes or No??

Hey there. Should I paint my currently silver slightly tatty Defender TD5 drab green???

i did my 110 matt green with roller cheep as chips

i did an old series 3 nato green,messy but did the job,i would stay with the silver,if the door bottoms are bitty and the other areas give it some check plate,
nato green goes a lovely pale green after some weathering and one thing that was odd whenever i went offroad and scratched or scuffed the body the nato green went pink

I've got a tin of drab you can buy

Brand new un-opened and 2.5L of matte

If I had the money I would do it silver again but the drab does sound like a cheap option.

do it cheap do it twice,you need to rethink this a little more

Save your pennies and re-spray it. I was thinking about matt black for the same reasons as you are but i gonna get it sprayed in blue again but a different shade. I been quoted £600

Do it! I did mine and it looks great. Metallic paint on defenders looks GAY!

Do it NATO green in satin.

Arghh, this is doin me head in. Haha, back at 50/50 not knowing what to do again! How good does the prep need to be for drab and do I just use a normal primer??

I gave mine a good wash and then rubbed it down all over with scotchbrite.

Slapped the paint straight on, all good.

It's got a brush finish but it looks ace tbh!

i roller painted mine in Satin green. Don't go matte, its a **** to keep clear and does not age or wear well.

Just so you know, the satin paint is usually celluose based, so be carefull when using any glues (on seals and the like) as this will usually melt the paint.

Also, the military paints tend to be very soft, so the do scratch fairly badly if you do a lot of laining. Buuuut then at 50 quid a go, i tend to just strip it down and repaint it again when it gets too bad.
