Downdraught for 3500 V8 - any good ?

Thinking of fitting a downdraught carb to the V8 as the SU's are past their sell by date. They are too worn to recondition and it would cost nearly as much as a new set.
Any ideas on cost for a manifold and a holly or similar four barrel carb and any one done it please.:)

personally i would go for 4 dcoe webbers maybe in the 40mm variety
Dont need the power at high revs so maybe a waste of money there and would need extra fuel pumps to keep up.
Would sound awsome though...:D

hi m8 i have a quadrajet carb on a v8 manifold that i took off my hybrid i have gone diesel powered so no good to me works well if u look in my adds there is pics of it make me an offer pete96
