Yeah...was a bit confused by the roof :
Was last taxed in '83, but no idea how long it has been stationary. Need to track down the owner now.

Yeah, the safari roofs are double skinned to keep the heat out in summer and reduces condensation in cold weather. The odd things fitted in the roof in your pictures are extra vents to help keep the occupants cool.
I absolutely love those old S2 wagons, I'd love one myself!

Cheers for that. Don't see over-heating as a major problem in the Highlands.....wonder where it has been in its life? Know where I am going tomorrow tho'..
Looks nice, BUT it will be a money pit. Would hazard a guess it has been up in the highlands all its life going by the reg plate.
Once you start stripping it down you will find more and more... Those Rear Doors for instance look shagged. Replacements are not cheap! B Posts are similar.
Looks like it was orginally a desiel before the engine was taken out

Aye, all five doors are shagged, but curiously, the glass is all intact! N/s B pillar shagged..o/s "looks" ok - but will take hammer with me tomorrow.
According to DVLA was 2286cc petrol

petrol tha wer
tis a nice old find that , well worth stripping and doing , iv seen ( had ) worse and rebuilt them to former glory
