Hi,

The yellow Descent error light will not go out. I have checked on the Nanocom and there are no listed errors. Button when pressed sometimes lights green light sometimes doesn't. Could this be my problem? Or do I need to start looking at thew dash wiring?

Elaborate a bit, the HDC comes on when you turn on the ignition together with the others(ABS, TC) then the others go out while the HDC stays on alone? ... what year is the D2?

Yes that is correct. It is a 99T plate.
Wondering if I caught something when I replaced the head unit now.

This can be caused by the IDM, instrument pack, SLABS ECU or the worst scenario some hidden wiring issue...if you feel skilled enough and up to DIY i'll tell you how to diagnose it, it involves a bit of work to get to the connectors of the cluster, the first step would be to rule out the main suspect which is the so called ''Brake lamps relay" part of the IDM/interior fusebox's PCB, unfortunately nanocom used to miss SLABS reated fault codes cos for that one it is a specific code in the diagnostic protocol which brings on only the HDC light, second in the attached list

Thanks Sierrafery. I will locate and check the brake lamps relay tonight. I guess if not this I will start checking the wiring from there onwards.
Am I right in thinking I need RAVE for a decent wiring diagram? I have a nasty feeling this may be a self inflicted wiring fault.

Yes, RAVE is compulsory...and i doubt you'll find the brake lamps relay cos its small and soldered into the fusebox's PCB so you have to dismantle the fusebox and even then it has two PCBs face to face soldered to each other... i tried to find it myself without success... at the price of good used fuseboxes it doesnt worth the hassle... though when you have RAVE i'll give you some hints where to measure without opening th fusebox
