doors playing silly buggers

my 200tdi doors are playing silly buggers, ive been told its these little round spring things so ive got a set of 3 springs one for both front doors and one for boot. only thing is where dothey go??? anyone got any pics or can explain it? dont eant to strip all door down if i dont have to.
